About Ancór
Founded in Limerick in 2005, Ancór has become one of the most exciting musical ensembles to emerge from the region. Today, the choir has approximately twenty-five singers who come from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities but all share a common love of singing together.
The choir embraces a wide repertoire, incorporating music from the Renaissance to the 21st century, from both the sacred and secular genres, and has performed several times at UCH Limerick (including supporting Regina Nathan in concert with the UL Orchestra), while other recent performances have taken place in the historic surroundings of St Mary's Cathedral and the Georgian House & Gardens, Pery Square, Limerick. Ancór also undertakes charitable performances including recent performances for Milford Care Centre and the Midwest Cancer Care Society.
