Cecilia Madden

Ancór is directed by Cecilia Madden, a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, where she read Music and History for the degrees of B.A. and M. Phil. While in Trinity, Cecilia sang as a choral scholar and subsequently conducted both the Chapel Choir and the University Orchestra. She participated in several conducting masterclasses around the world including those at Westminster Choir College, Princeton (USA), Varese School of Music (Italy), the European Academy for Young Choral Conductors at Timmendorf (Germany) and the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland Conducting Masterclass in Limerick.

Cecilia spent a year living in Berlin where she studied Choral Direction at the Hochschule für Musik as a guest student and sang with the three choirs of Berlin Cathedral. She returned to her studies in Ireland and received a First-Class Honours Graduate Diploma in Music Education from the University of Limerick.

Cecilia has directed several other choirs including St Ann's Church Choir, Dawson Street, Dublin and the Redemptorist Church Choir in Limerick. She returned to her native Limerick in 2005, where she now teaches Music and History at Ardscoil Mhuire, Corbally.
